We finally made it to Texarkana. My mom and dad flew to San Antonio to help us pack the U-haul there and on the 27th we drove it to Texarkana. It was so great to have them with us for a week and it was really hard to see them go. Following are all of the pictures I took while they were here. The one of Mom and Dad with Michael and Noah on their bikes is super cute.
Michael started 1st grade on August 26th. He isn't in to having his picture taken these days so I only have one to post. Michael learned how to ride his bike a couple of months ago and since then wants to ride every day, all day. We got tired of riding in the neighborhood so we took a trip to Brakenridge park and rode their trails. It was lots of fun.

Sometime in July...I think July, but can't remember...we went to Bastrop Lake near Austin. After having our boat for 2 years I finally went for a ride and to my surprise I liked it. I'd still rather have a pontoon and just drift down the river with cocktail in hand, but our boat was perfectly comfortable. No pictures of me to prove that I was on the boat, but there are plenty of Noah. He really liked it. Of course Michael did, too.
On our way home we went to the world famous Snake Farm. It's the Snake Farm that was featured on dirty jobs. Jeff really liked the llama.
Noah got ear tubes this summer. Michael took this lovely photo to commemorate the event. Since he's had the tubes he's been doing well. No ear infections yet. Let's hope it stays that way. I've been really surprised at how good he is at keeping his ear plugs in while he bathes. He actually seems to like it.
We went to Schlitterbahn a few weekends ago. Schlitterbahn is apparently the #1 water park in the U.S. I must agree. There was lots of fun things and even a few "hot tub" bars. Nothing like sitting on a bar stool in the water and drinking a cold margarita on the hottest day of the summer. I'd love to go back without the kids to go on all of the rides. Unfortunately Michael is too impatient to wait in line for an hour and when I make him wait in line and we get to the top of the hill he freaks out about it being too scary. Ahhh...good times.
Next week Michael starts first grade and I have my first faculty meeting at TAMUT.
We celebrated Michael's birthday today at our neighborhood's pool. It was really nice. We had the pool all to ourselves for a couple of hours until it opened to the public at 1:00. Michael got some really nice gifts and had lots of fun with his friends. It was especially nice for him to see his friends from Montessori who he misses so much.
Michael is playing t-ball for Windcrest Little League. He's having lots of fun despite the fact that there are only 3 teams including his. His team is the Nationals. Noah is his #1 fan
So I'm a little late in getting the photos up from Mother's day, but better late than never, right?
We spent the day at the San Antonio zoo. It was beautiful and we had lots of fun. I think it was the first time we had taken Noah to the zoo and it was really neat watching him look at all of the animals.
